Description:
The piece is called “Magic,” this piece remains one of my most significant early journeys into the digital medium. In 2017, having recently acquired an AG Mobile tablet, a device from a local South African company, I decided to venture beyond my background in traditional pen and paper Art and Comics. Out of curiosity, I downloaded the free drawing app, MediBang Paint and began exploring the software’s potential using only my finger. What began as a series of trial and error tests quickly evolved into a 3D effect composition(To my eyes at the time at least.) that felt like a genuine breakthrough. After spending the day sharing the result with friends, I realized I had only just begun to scratch the surface of the digital art world.
Extra:
Unfortunately, AG Mobile ceased operations that same year. I still keep the tablet as a memento of where I began, though it currently sits idle due to a damaged charging port from a misguided attempt to "Make it smell nice" because one of my friends school accessories always smelled so nice because she perfumed them. It remains a goal of mine to eventually repair the hardware, as it still holds several early digital pieces that have yet to be recovered.
